For churches
Biblelexical is a free, offline Bible app designed for the realities of local church ministry, from well-equipped city centres to rural congregations, prison ministries, and anywhere the internet is unreliable or unavailable.
Many churches meet in spaces without reliable internet: a rented hall, a basement, a rural building, a prison chapel. Biblelexical works completely offline after installation. The Bible, word study, cross-references, commentaries, reading plans, and the writing tools are all stored on the device. No wifi, no cellular data, no login required.
This makes it ideal for:
Private and secure
Because nothing is uploaded, Biblelexical is suitable for sensitive settings. Notes, reading history, and highlights never leave the device. There is no server to audit, no account to manage, and no data that could be requested by a third party.
Biblelexical works well for small groups and Bible studies. Everyone can install the same app on their own phones and follow along in their preferred translation. The reading plans give the group a shared schedule, and individuals can take notes privately without needing a shared account or cloud service.
The sermon preparation tools (verse insertion, organised library, most-quoted-verses analytics) were built with local church pastors in mind. No subscription, no learning curve, and no dependency on church wifi on Sunday morning. Your sermon is ready whether the network is working or not.
Because there is no account, there is nothing for the church to administer. No user list, no password resets, no permissions, no billing. Every member simply installs the app and uses it. If someone gets a new phone, they export their own backup and carry their notes across themselves. The church's technology team has exactly zero work to do.
The app interface is available in twelve languages, and Bible translations are available in English, Serbian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Italian, Korean, Croatian, Turkish, and more. Members can read Scripture in the language that speaks to their heart while using the app in whichever interface language they prefer.
How to recommend it
Send your congregation the link to this page or to the download page. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to configure. They install the app, open it, and the Bible is there. If you want printed instructions, email us and we will help.
